When we went to the Church at Motukaraka, in order to avoid a very long road journey, we first had to get the ferry across the Hokianga Harbour from Kohukohu where we were staying to Rawene (a lovely little place with an exceptionally helpful garage - well it was the owner rather than the garage who was helpful. Odd how we sometimes say that a thing is helpful). Before we got on the ferry we could see the church across the harbour in the far distance. The buildings below the church is the Marae of the hapu on who's land the church stands.

That second photo is wonderful. Keep it all coming.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fabulous distraction for me during the day. Thanks x
Lovely! I like the name 'Motukaraka'. I am repeating it to myself. It's like a poem.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteI love pictures of boats (ferries, etc.) on the water! Lovely progression of the church. Noting Katherine's comment about Motukaraka, I said it aloud, then I thought of la cucaracha! silly me?
ReplyDeleteThat white church certainly stands out from afar!
ReplyDeleteI like Scrappy Grams comment. She has the rythm of the Maori language down pat. Lovely shots of the church across the water. Would you believe that same tyre has another puncture?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments. Sounds like a jinxed tyre Pauline. I hope you weren't too far from help. We were so very lucky with that puncture happening across the road from the only garage for miles.
