An Afternoon Spin

It was a beautiful afternoon and in a few days I'll not be driving The Handbag with the roof down for another 6 months.  Driving the back country road from Bayview to the Puketitiry Road I followed a proper sports car: an MG TF Midget.  The fact that it has a 1250cc engine dates it at 1953.  It even sounded like a proper sports car.

  1. Oh - just checked the dates and you are off again next week - that has gone so fast :(
Hope you have a wonderful summer over there - etter than we had for you down here at least!
    Safe trip

    1. Yes Fiona. Three more sleeps. It's 26 on the deck this morning and I'm about to go for an afternoon's croquet.

  2. If anyone else was watching it must have given the impression of a Handbag parade! :)

    1. Thanks Monica! I followed him for quite a few kliks until he moved over to let me pass. I was happy at his speed so he followed behind me until I arrived at my home road and turned off.

  3. Aha! You say that's a man and I have to believe you as you passed him. But to me it looks like a grey-haired old lady with a bun. And that's what I want it to be! Me in a few years! :-)

    1. Definitely a man, Katherine. Given that he was sporting a very neat goatee beard I think I can be reasonably certain

    2. I'm not sure, by the way, that I see you with a bun. Driving an MG though would be very you.
