Someone recently mentioned Bruges in a blog post. I know they did. I'm sure they did. I'm sure because mention was made (and there was a YouTube clip) of the film In Bruges. Comment was made that regardless of the film's merits it showed lots of footage of the old city of Bruges. I thought that it was Jenny Woolf of The English Travel Writer. I suppose that was a natural association. I went to Jenny's blog this evening to comment and discovered that it wasn't her blog where I'd seen it.
I can't find a reference anywhere.
So this evening having watched the film (not to be recommended except for the scenery) I don't know to whom I want to make that fact known. Can anyone help me? Pleeeeeeeeease!

Thank you so much Fiona. I was beginning to think I'd gone doolally. I wouldn't bother to be honest Fiona. The setting is beautiful but the film (apart from the fact that it must have more uses of the F word than all the other films I've ever seen put together) really is very second rate.
ReplyDeleteStupid me - instead of checking whether anyone had already come back to you on that question, I went and checked quite a few of the blogs on my dashboard for anything about Bruges... I was pretty sure I had not seen it mentioned anywhere, but since my memory can easily fail me on such things, I checked anyway, and of course didn't find anything.

Glad you found the solution, GB. I knew it couldn't have been me, because I don't have a blog site and I've never seen the film in question -- and probably never will, though I have been to Bruges, and thought it was charming. And the chocolates were superb!! (You can tell where my mind is at the moment ... oh well...)
