A Game of Chess

I've been looking at the photos of all the things we did and the places we went on Day 3 in Sydney.  In amongst all the sightseeing we had a quiet 20 minutes just watching a game of chess in the Royal Botanic Gardens the width of a road away from the CBD with all its hustle and bustle and hundreds of thousands of people.  It was one of the most serene moments we had in the city.

  1. Oh you've caught the quiet intensity of this game so well! :)

  2. They look peaceful too. Always good to see Tai Chi lessons happening in the city parks too.

    1. The gentleman on the left was really quite a play-actor when he was getting excited about a move. The chap on the right hardly moved a muscle when he played.

  3. Peaceful respite from a busy city under the trees playing chess....I immediately wondered if the chess pieces are left out at night.....maybe no vandals or crazy youngsters around to worry about destruction or stealing....that's great.

    1. Virginia I'd be surprised if they were left out. Apart from anything else, unlike the ones I remember in Berlin, these were very light and would almost certainly be taken.
