Looking out of The Cottage earlier this evening the sky was pink. Given that the sun sets behind The Cottage and out of sight over the top of the slight hillside on which I live this seemed to me to indicate that there was likely to be a magnificent sunset behind me. There was. These are all straight out of the camera.

ReplyDeleteRich as a jewel. Shockingly gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWe've been having beautiful sunsets lately, too but I haven't been able to do them justice. Glad you can.
ReplyDeletebreath-taking!
ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful! Thank you for posting them.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 5, we moved into a terraced house in the town where I still live (not in the house, but in the town). My room was facing west, and I remember how I often knelt on my bed that was placed underneath the window to watch the sunset. It always filled me with a strange longing and an obscure heartache that felt painful and good at the same time. To this day, I have not quite figured out what it is about sunsets striking that particular chord in me.
Crikey, they look as though they've been photoshopped.
ReplyDeleteHow amazing, and how lucky you were to see it.

Thanks for your comments. It really was that colour, SP, no photoshopping or tweaking at all, honest.
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine living without big skies and sunrises and sunsets can have a huge emotional effect on me too Meike.
