The Last of My 2012

Highland dress - Kiwi style
The last sunset of 2012 from The House
Not quite a full moon
How many of you would be in the pool 11pm New Year's Eve?
The Gay Gordons - last couple standing
It's all over
The last people leave

There's the clearing up to be done
And the walk back to The Cottage

  1. looks like you all had a good New Year. Would be lovely to spend it by the pool instead of in front of the fire! Marc spent his in Sydney watching the fireworks. Happy New Year to you and the family xx

    1. Thanks Carol and a wonderful New Year to you and yours too - when it arrives! Are there no fireworks in Stornoway this year?

  2. A good New Year then! Has he no respect for the Pope or the tartan? Tell him I wish I'd made his shirt dayglo.
We have gone posh this year is M&Ms times plus three. It's going to be a sweet year. A new year puzzle you will solve in a minute. Have fun.

    1. Rather more for the tartan than the Pope I suspect Adrian. I see you have just posted. I shall go and see about riddle-solving. I hope that 2013 (when it comes for you) is a Good Year for you too.

    2. Oh, Adrian. You had posted ages ago - it had only just appeared on my Dashboard and it has nothing to do with solving riddles. Ho hum.

  4. Oh, it's already New Year over there? Here in Sicily we are two hours away. I certainly would not go into the pool, it's freezing here. Happy New Year! Lovely and fun pictures, looks like you're having a ball!

    1. What a coincidence Francesca - I was just over at your place listening to Putting on the Ritz. As you can see Martin was doing his best here! It's now after 10am New Year's Day here in NZ. We are 12 hours ahead of you and 13 ahead of the UK and 25 (yes 25 hours) ahead of some of the Pacific Islands on the other side of the International Date Line.

  5. Happy New Year, Graham. Glad you saw it in in style. Love the walking home shot. I thought my walk home across the paddock was uneventful but my shoes tell a different story.

    1. So long as it's only your shoes Pauline. It's when your hands and knees also tell a story that there's a problem.

  8. Looks like everyone had a great time ringing in the new year....always good to celebrate with family and friends.
I stayed up with Brownie and watched the fireworks from several areas on the island.
No pool at 11pm for me though.
Loved the last 2012 sunset photo.
    Happy Happy New Year GB!!

    1. We've already communicated since New Year but you were right everyone had a good time. Left to my own devices, though, I'd just have a quiet reflective evening.

  9. Sleepyheaded thoughts of a non-Scottish person: "The Gay Gordons? But their name isn't Gordon..." (Wikpedia to the rescue. And a YouTube video clip. I'm educated now.) Looks like a fabulous evening. Personally I have no complaints about mine either, even if there was no heated pool involved. My privilege as the hostess was I escaped the cold showers that my guests had to take in coming and going... (rain pouring down all day and night outside).

    1. It is a wonderful dance danced at every Scottish wedding and any and every other occasion. Unfortunately I tried it, did it and undid all the good the gym has done in strengthening my leg muscles. Ce's la vie....start again.

    1. Thanks Cynthia. I'm pleased that you smiled. It's good for the something or others - can't remember what they are called but they probably end with orphins.
