I have two concessions to Christmas decorations: The Christmas Tree that Catriona made for me when she was 5 and about which I blogged last Christmas and the Father Christmas which Friend Who Knows Too Much gave me one year as an accompaniment to my Christmas gift. This year it is standing on my table with the first Christmas card to arrive this year. Don't you just love him?

Looks just like Eric Morecambe. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHe makes me feel happy :)
ReplyDeleteWhere is the tree?!@
ReplyDeleteYes, Adrian, I hadn't thought of that.
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather.
Pat if you click on the 'I blogged last Christmas' you'll find the tree!
That is the ghost of Christmas' past. What I would like to know is - where is today's Christmas Tree?
ReplyDeleteYou know me - cannot have Christmas without a Christmas Tree in the corner of the sitting room. Mine is going up either today or tomorrow! I will send you a picture when it is finished. Kate wanted me to keep it up until she comes home on 17th January but I think that would be a tad too long even for me! xx
Very endearing, and seems proud and happy enough to be chosen as the single ornament by you... But don't you think he gets lonely when you're away playing croquet??
ReplyDeleteMy little commune of gnomes and santas and angels are still in the storage room. I don't usually bring them up until a week or so before Christmas.
It would be perfect were he slapping his heel.
ReplyDeletePat most people I know have a faux Christmas tree so bring the same one out every year. That's what I'm doing except that I'm bringing out a more faux tree than most but it's also a more treasured one than most.
ReplyDeleteThere is only one Santa, Monica, and he manages to travel the world alone (unless you count the reindeer) so I think he's used to his own company.
Yes that would make him a true happy clappie Eric.
Yes, I do love your dancing Santa. His mood matches mine!
ReplyDeleteYes I do! he looks awfully jolly,

In my flat, there are some little Christmassy bits here and there, but never much, since I like my clear, empty spaces too much, but there are a few "musts" I won't do without: a garland across my kitchen window and a "snow flake" ornament dangling from a lamp in the bedroom.
