Ladybugs

A tiny ladybird.  Probably a Steelblue Ladybird - Halmus chalybeus - introduced from Australia.
What struck me about this photo is that the insect is so small that before the photo was enlarged I had no idea that I actually had those tiny hairs on the back of my finger!

  1. What a little smasher.
You need Grecian 2000 on that finger.

  2. Tiny?! (LOL) Well I guess the bug must be really tiny too then... I'm afraid with me it just stirs up memories of a holiday back in the 90s on the Swedish south coast when similar bugs (the red ladybug + also other small black beetles) were swarming... hundreds, thousands, clouds of them...

  3. We have yellow ladybugs (not really its name, can't remember it) and red with black dots ladybugs. How interesting it is to me that you call them ladybirds. Do they call them that in the UK? I wonder. The color of the Steelblue Ladybird is gorgeous!
