I saw a post today that said its not what is under the Christmas tree that counts, but who is around it. I am so pleased you have such lovely people around your tree. x
Thank you Jules and thank you for visiting. I was fascinated by a photo on your blog which included an old gramophone. I have one which looks identical (but with a different trade name) which was a present to my mother around 1930.
No Adrian even I was awake. As for the Slinky I'm used to the stainless steel ones but Carol (in Cairns) had a very classy copper one on her recent post.
Red we are about 20 hours ahead of you. I have some difficulty with time zones even after living in places between 11 and 13 hours apart (depending on the relative summertimes) for 8 years.
What's that you are clinking glasses with? Looks like Aperol Spritz, but I doubt the children would be allowed drinking that, not even on Christmas. Good to see such radiant faces around the table. Merry Christmas to all!
Virginia we are toasting with fizz cocktails (some alcoholic and some non-alcoholic). We are eating the prawn cocktails from less-than-traditional bowls because they are easier to use.
Oh dear Jenny. I hadn't even noticed the colour coordination. It's purely coincidental. I can't help thinking about all my friends and family in the UK who are enduring such bad weather.
We may be apart but when I look at the sky and remember that we are standing on the same earth, looking at the same moon, somehow you don't seem so far away after all.
Life
Life isn't about dawdling to the grave, arriving safely in an attractive, wrinkle-free body but rather an adventure that ends skidding in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, totally worn out, screaming "Yee-ha. What a ride!!"
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… It’s about learning to dance in the rain. (With thanks to shabby girl of A Travelling Fish )
Feeling young is fabulous but growing old is a blessing!!! (A comment on this blog by Jaz of Treacy Travels.)
The trick to pushing 70, GB, is to push back -- hard!!! (A comment by Carol aka Canadian Chickadee)
Like a Godwit I migrate. I live in New Zealand during the Southern Hemisphere's Summer and I live in Scotland's Outer Hebrides in the Northern Hemisphere's Summer (See Eagleton Notes). In both places I also live in Blogland which, for me, is as real a life as any other.

ReplyDeleteThat is a very bright slinky.

ReplyDeleteI had my wee dram later Bill.
DeleteA happy scene indeed, and lucky you that gales and rain are just a faraway thought....
ReplyDeleteI love the red blue and white colour scheme, although I suppose it is not intentional that most of you wore harmonising clothes!
