The Great Adventure: Day One: Wairere Boulders

The last part of our day before making for Kerikeri and our home for the long weekend was the Wairere Boulders.  For more information and photos see the posting on Pauline's blog The Paddock and the Wairere Boulders website.  It was very difficult to get a good idea of the scale of the boulders from the photos

Not good if you are claustrophobic or living in an earthquake zone (this area of New Zealand is relatively free of earthquakes)

The 'interpretation centre' was 'homley' and very much more informative than many such places.

  1. GB I would prefer it to be totally earthquake free. Good pictures of exciting scenery

  2. You got some great shots! Thank heavens you didn't go on at length about being "relatively earthquake free" - I was telling myself it was "totally" earthquake free. I am too old for the earth to be moving for me!!

  3. I live here now 27 years, and never felt an earth quake. None knows what is tomorrow.
