The Great Adventure: Day One: Waipoua Forest

Before we set off East again we went North along the Kauri Coast through the Waipoua Forest .


The vastness of this 9105 hectare forest conservation area is astonishing

 
From the top of this tower stretches forest in every direction

 
A great place for bloggers.

 
 As far as the eye can see, and then some

    I remember that tower from visiting Waipoua Forest in 1973 - I was 8!

    The tropics are so very different from anything I've ever seen...very full and packed tight with interesting greenery...and there IS a blogger down there!
