Images of Autumn

Autumn is here and I think I'm much more aware of it this year than I usually am.  I have a short memory though because I've just looked back through the posts with and 'Autumn' label and apparently I feel the same at this time each year.  I should have known.  I suppose I am more nostalgic than most people because, for me, autumn means a life change: 'goodbye' to New Zealand and 'hello' to Scotland (where, of course, it's Spring and I have to re-adjust my body-clock).

I love the change of seasons. Autumn is especially good :-)

  2. How does that mess with your body clock? Wow, I never thought about that, but it's been a while since you've had a "winter", right?

FAntastic photos! I would be hard pressed to pick a fave, but, lucky me, I don't have to!

  3. I love the foggy and the misty shots so much!
What do I see hanging in the tree of the last shot?
My son is still adjusting from years of working the shift of 5 pm to 5 am to the shift of 6 am to 3 pm. I think it would be even harder to move from one time area to another.

  4. What fabulous shots of your autumn world! Or is that one my autumn world? I lingered on the way to work this morning to take a few photos of the fog this but it will have to get a bit colder before the good shots present themselves. Love the shot of the mist rising from the orchard.

  5. I was going to say that I can't remember you posting such autumnal pictures from NZ before. But then I did what you did, i.e. clicked on your Autumn label... Hmm. Obviously my memory is not infallible... (I even commented on that post of yours from last year, so no use trying to pretend I never saw it!)

Anyway - if you're leaving NZ at a beautiful time of year, you'll also be getting back to Europe at a beautiful time of year... Just keep counting your blessings ;)

  6. Lisa: Yes the last time I saw a winter was 2005! It actually is a bit strange not having winters. The main problem is that half the year I live ahead of my other home and the other half of the time I'm behind my other other home. It's all very confusing.

  7. SG: The tree with the hanging seed pods is a Jacoranda Tree. In the late spring and early summer they are a blaze of light purple flowers: http://rotowhenua2.blogspot.com/2007/12/jacaranda-trees.html
