It ain't easy being a bird!!! Great photos! I've always wanted to see a Kingfisher! He looks so annoyed and humiliated by the rain, doesn't he? Hope you're tucked away, safe & dry!
Actually, Lisa, some of the birds do seem to be having a hard time and look very bedraggled. I think 48 hours of heavy rain (and still raining) gets through even their feathers.
Sounds wet ;) Doesn't make for playing outside, very much fun, now does it? Love that kingfisher though.
Sorry that I've not been visiting much this week....I was obsessed with my blog redoing...and, yes, I don't know, Graham - why I do that to myself, but I do and for some strange reason - I enjoy it - even the frustration of it. I like to solve problems, QUIET problems, that is....not like that of my children, oh-boy - solving their issues with one another is certainly not my favorite thing to do.
We may be apart but when I look at the sky and remember that we are standing on the same earth, looking at the same moon, somehow you don't seem so far away after all.
Life
Life isn't about dawdling to the grave, arriving safely in an attractive, wrinkle-free body but rather an adventure that ends skidding in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, totally worn out, screaming "Yee-ha. What a ride!!"
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… It’s about learning to dance in the rain. (With thanks to shabby girl of A Travelling Fish )
Feeling young is fabulous but growing old is a blessing!!! (A comment on this blog by Jaz of Treacy Travels.)
The trick to pushing 70, GB, is to push back -- hard!!! (A comment by Carol aka Canadian Chickadee)
Like a Godwit I migrate. I live in New Zealand during the Southern Hemisphere's Summer and I live in Scotland's Outer Hebrides in the Northern Hemisphere's Summer (See Eagleton Notes). In both places I also live in Blogland which, for me, is as real a life as any other.

It really must be raining. It's washed all the colour from the Kingfisher...........Real rain that is!
ReplyDeletePS: It's very difficult to capture rain. Have you been taking Photoshop lessons?

ReplyDeleteThere are better Kingfisher photos at the following posts on this blog.
No Adrian that's all real. I haven't mastered Photoshop that well yet!
They are proper Kingfishers. Thanks. Rain in PShop is easier than it is in camera. What's more it's adjustable. Hope the sun comes out soon.
ReplyDeleteHi GB, ... you have great photos. Rain not a problem for Kingfisher because the feathers waterproof (perhaps!) I want to follow this blog, thank you.

Your pictures certainly capture the feeling of being wet all through at not being happy about it ;)
