Alpacas

Reading Adrian's Images recently he mentioned Llamas and compared them with Alpacas.  I was certain that I had blogged about the Alpacas in the paddock next door to The Cottage last year but, no, I hadn't - well not according to the blog search or my own labels. The most recent was in 2007: Neighbours.  How odd.  They are such amusingly aloof animals.

This is not an Alpaca!  However it is in the paddock next door.

  1. These are such nice shots, Graham. On my updates list, the Alpaca looks like a painting. The colors are soft and summery...I want to run out in the fields with these critters - yes, I do.

  2. Beautiful photos of the alpaca. Lovely looking creatures until they decide to spit. Nasty when there are stomach contents mixed in with it - there's no delicate way of describing it, sorry. I stay well away from them - you have to know the dos and don'ts of handling them I believe.

  3. Thanks for these. I Will now be able to differentiate between them. I was of the opinion that they were of uncertain temperament. Llamas seem friendly enough.

  4. Obviously I know nothing regarding their temperaments, but they have such friendly faces in these photos :-)
