One of the reassuring things about New Zealand television is its predictability. For a long time - years - Food in a Minute has been an iconic advert just before One News at 6pm.

Notes on my life when in New Zealand
From peparing point of view I'm a great fan of anything that can be accomplished in a minute.
ReplyDeleteFrom enjoying-and-digesting-the-actual-meal point of view, however...
You know if you register on the website they will email you the recipe of the day each day? I know one bachelor who swears by these recipes, and I have one or two in my stash, too!
ReplyDeleteI think they would struggle in the UK with the advertising standards people. For example, the beetroot and feta salad states that it takes 15 minutes to prepare and 5 to cook. Seems as if it should be "Food in 20 Minutes", but I guess that's not quite as snappy.
ReplyDeletePauline: Thanks. I didn't know that. There are one or two I've used. There are many the children drool over which could be useful.
ReplyDeleteMark: In advertising terms the law regards such statements as 'puffs'. Like saying 'We make the best cakes in Sheffield'. Generally they are legally acceptable. Thought I'd just mention that! It's one of the few things I can recall from law lectures.
Yeah I suppose it's only when they try and claim science stuff that they have to have proof -- and hence the very very small fast moving print on some adverts.
