Talking of Winter

I was driving home from croquet this morning and I kept getting views of the central ranges - these are the Kawakas (I think!).  They were covered in snow and when I got to the Poriati turn-off I stopped and took these shots.  The Ranges are about 40 ks away as the crow flies from where I was standing:

Winter on Lewis

For the last six or so weeks I've been constantly reminded about the unusually early cold and snow in the UK, Ontario and elsewhere and, in particular, about Lewis where snow and freezing temperatures are rare.  So today I posted some photos by friends on Eagleton Notes of the townsips around where I live on Lewis.
