Hello Graham:
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful is this. We have only ever once seen a Kingfisher and that was many, many years ago. They are, indeed, the most beautiful of birds. Lucky you!
My favourite bird GB. Love the pics.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful bird. I never knew it was so blue! You got really good shots here!
ReplyDeleteAw, really nice shot. I've never got a decent one. They are 'twitchy' little birds and zoom off so quickly. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI remember when we were at Symnonds Yat together some years ago getting a photo of a British Kingfisher. It was a sort of vague blue streak against the green bank iof the river. These are something of an improvement!!!
ReplyDelete{Perhaps you should resurrect your list if NZ birds seen /photographed next year.)
These are brilliant. There are quite a lot around here but I've never seen one up so close. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGeeb, I wondered if you'd mind me popping this image (with attribution of course) onto the Ornithological society of New Zealand Facebook page... we are always looking for fab shots like this...
ReplyDeletePlease say no if you'd rather not.
I'm very happy for my shots to be used so long as it's not for commercial gain. So I'm delighted in this case. A reference back is always a bonus.
DeleteThank you! The OSNZ is a non-profit organisation. Some would say THE birding website for NZ...
