Art Deco Weekend: "Soapboxes"

Every year there is a soapbox derby when Napiers Best race each other for the title of fastest soapbox. I didn't see the Derby this year but I did manage photos of some of the entries.

  1. I love the last one - a 1950 Maserati?

  2. Great workmanship. Amazing details. These appear to be a child's dream for soapbox cars :o)

  3. Oh...and I wonder if you'd guess which one was my favorite...

I like the happy yellow one. It reminds me of the large metal toy car I had when I was little (the one that I dropped on my third toe and still have the scar to prove it). I loved that toy; the doors opened and everything :o)

  4. Yes. I would have guessed. Of course I didn't know that you had a similar car when you were a child but you are so a 'Yellow' person. Yellow represents the sun and sunny outlooks. If asked what my favourite colour is I always ask "for what purpose" (but then I'm like that - I wouldn't want yellow walls in my house, for example, but I love yellow shirts) but if told for no purpose then I choose yellow (or blue sometimes).
