  2. Yes, you do like gannets. I guess you better get to like them with this many around. The adults are a very attractive bird.

    1. Yes Red. I think I may have overdone the quantity I posted but I just couldn't decide which ones to leave out. At least I didn't post the hundreds I actually took!

  4. Oooh so do I. Beautiful photos GB.

I haven't seen gannets since I got a digital camera - makes me want to go and see some again.

    1. Hopefully, Helen, you will see plenty of them when you come to Lewis.

  5. Well you seem to have a certain preference of type of landscape in common with them :) Beautiful photos!

    1. I do love that landscape Monica. But then I love the sea and mountains and ...... well, the countryside in general really.

  6. I've said it before and I'll say it again - you always manage to take great pictures of animals, no matter the species. I am already proud of myself if I can get a half-decent shot of my neighbours' cat downstairs on the patio!

    1. Thanks Meike. The camera does help because I don't have to get too near.

  7. What captivating photos.....are you sure you're not freelancing with National Geographic? They're wildlife magazine worthy.
We don't have gannets here, but I like what I see...they're pretty birds.
Loved the second last photo the best.

    1. Thanks Virginia and I will happily accept the compliment. It does help being in the right place though.

  8. What super photos. The fact that so many of them are gathered together in one spot helped to convey a real feeling of the movement of the birds. You'll have to add sound next and then it will be a complete gannet experience....

I echo Librarian's comment (above) it's all I can do to get a decent pic of something very slow moving, like, for instance, a snail :)

    1. A video Jenny would certainly convey the atmosphere because there is a lot of noise (and smell!). As for pictures you have taken some that I have absolutely loved for their atmosphere and technique. The fact that I have one on a wall is testimony to that. (In case anyone is wondering I did ask permission!).
