One Follower Less

Although I have blocked quite a few followers on my blog (mainly potential spammers) I've never found a way to un-follow someone else on Blogger so I was a bit puzzled today when one of my followers disappeared.  In itself it's not important but curiosity means that I'd like to know!  It's not the first time it's happened either as I realised when I read my post from January last year.

  1. Maybe they have simply found they have really too many blogs in their reading list and can't keep up with everything that is posted every day. Or they have, for one reason or other, completely dropped out of the blogosphere and their profile is gone.

  2. I found the way a while ago and stopped follwing a load of people. Now all I have to do is remember how I did it...

  3. Go down to the bottom of your dashboard and see the blogs you are following on your reading list. Click on 'manage'. Go down the list to the one you want to stop following and click 'settings'. Click 'stop following this site'.

I've just stopped following you - I'd better re-instate it...

  4. Yeah, I found that as soon as I said I had 199 followers, someone unfollowed me. Somebody with a wry sense of humour I suspect! :D I have found that when I manage my blogs and unfollow, they sometimes mysteriously reinstate themselves. I have no idea how that happens!

  5. I remember there were problems to 'unfollow' around back when you last blogged about it. Even if one tried to follow the instructions as given by Scriptor above, nothing happened. But just recently I tried again and this time I was more successful and managed to shorten my list. I think there were still a few that I could not get rid of though.

I go by the same principle as when clearing out books. If I look at the title and haven't got a clue what it's about or who wrote it, I probably won't miss it!

    1. As always, Monica, your logic is as impeccable as your memory.

  6. Oh Geeb, speaking of followers, have you noticed Dave? He seems to be on everyone's member list but never comments. I think it's spooky possums.

    1. Just looked him up. He's just trying to get everyone to his sites: "About me
Thanks for stopping by! We've been around since 1996 and we are built to help travelers such as yourself. Join our site and be part of our travel community. Check out our message boards, photo galleries, journals and much more. ~ Dave"

  7. I unfollowed a lot of blogs a while ago. Can't remember what I did but I do remember it took ages to find a way. I guess it was the way Scriptor suggests. I pretty much took Monica's approach and figured while I was scrolling past those blogs I have no further interest in reading, I might miss one I didn't want to miss.

    1. I guess that most of us have lots of followers who don't actually follow any more just as we have blogs we follow but no longer read. C'est la vie.
