Don't Climb Poles


Every electricity or telephone pole in New Zealand has a metal collar around it to stop Possums climbing up and damaging the wires.

    Shame - there was I thinbking they were to stop the Possums from damaging the Possums! bbbzzzzzzzzzz

    I don't know about possums but in that last picture it looks as if the metal sleeve isn't doing a very good job of keeping two separate bits of pole upright! I wonder if being encased in metal has caused the middle of the pole to rot?
